We have a special event happening this Friday, November 16th that is relevant to some of your students planning their futures through OYAP. We have Brandon Hay, Manager of Outreach and Training for BuildingUp. This organization is involved in the re-development of Lawrence Heights and possibly an employer for students thinking of the trades next summer. Other presenters include:
- Stephanie & Alexander Florio that created the Youth job search phone App called Swob (Swipe Job). They will be talking about this great tool and their entrepreneurial journey.
- Erika Armstrong, Community Services Supervisor, Youth Job Link, TDSB: Part-time, Full-time, Summer Jobs and the ED (Tara) of Camp Kidstown for summer camp jobs and employer expectations.
- Sharron Williams, NPower Canada (government & corporate intiative) providing Free training and placements for students not attending post-secondary. Training and jobs as a Junior IT Analyst or Digital Customer Service Representative.
We are hopeful that you can encourage attendance …this is a networking opportunity too!
