Programs & Services:

  • YWCA JUMP is a settlement support program for newcomer women and girls 13+ funded by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada. The program helps women and girls explore career options, build skills, search for jobs  and integrate into Canadian society.
  • YWCA English Language Instruction for Newcomers (LINC), offers no-cost English classes to women. English language instruction enables newcomers to fully contribute to life in Canada. We offer spaces for children nineteen months to six years of age and the program is monitored by CMAS. Monday to Friday, Levels 0-3 (9:00-12:00) and levels 4-6 (9:00-2:30)
  • Eligibility for YWCA JUMP participants must be a woman who is a Permanent Resident or Convention Refugee or live-in caregiver with a temporary work permit. For the LINC Program, participants must be a woman who is a Permanent Resident or Convention Refugee.
  • YWCA Women in Trades and Technology offers women a chance to build a sustainable future in non-traditional occupations for women. We partner with colleges, unions, employers and business leaders to provide competitive, gender-based and inclusive training programs for women interested in entering the construction, landscaping and technology industries.
  • Eligibility for Women in the Skilled Trades and Technology program participants must be a woman who is a Permanent Resident or Canadian Citizen
