ERCAG Event – Navigating and Thriving in the Evolving Labor Market

Employment Resource Connections Action Group invites you to our 5th annual professional development event focusing on frontline staff needs and how to navigate and thrive in an evolving job market from the perspectives of frontline staff, employers and newcomers.

This is a recording of the professional development event hosted by the Employment Resource Connections Action Group (ERCAG) at Toronto West Local Immigration Partnership (TWLIP). It was held on 9 February, 2022.

The guest speakers included :
Keynote Speaker: Ruth Wojtiuk, Professional Practice Lead – Ruth’s professional career has spanned many areas of nursing, from community and acute care practice to administration and teaching. Encouraging her internationally educated colleagues to fully share their knowledge and skills, as well as to actively overcome organizational barriers, have been important components of her professional practice. In her current role as Professional Practice Lead at CARE Centre, she is dedicated to guiding, supporting and advocating for IENs as they pursue nursing registration and employment in Ontario.

Tatiana Lazareva – Panelist: Tatiana is a Principal at UNICORN Experts, Supply Chain and Logistics Recruitment firm. She worked in the field of Supply Chain and Demand Planning for 8 years serving various industries including Retail, Manufacturing and CPG.

Rodrigo Forero – Panelist: Rodrigo is a newcomer in Canada who landed in 2019, he is a solution-oriented, results-driven team leader with 9+ years of experience in business development, project management and management of professional teams. His experience includes specific expertise in complex bid management for new and existing customers across multiple industries and regions.

Lizeth Teran – Panelist: Lizeth is as an intake worker at the Mennonite New Life Center. She has a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a postgraduate degree in social intervention from Colombia and a diploma in social service work from George Brown College.
